The Franco-Japanese floral jewelry house IKI de Veyrac presents an exceptional plant display to mark its first anniversary.
To celebrate its first anniversary in December, the high-end floral art house IKI de Veyrac is proud to present its latest custom creation, a large-format plant painting with the look of an Amazonian forest and the drape of a haute couture dress.
The young floral art house IKI de Veyrac is celebrating its first anniversary with the custom creation of a 1.80 m x 0.80 m plant painting representing the Amazon rainforest.
A dreamlike creation in which the river is represented by vines, selected from the St-Amour vineyard in Beaujolais, and enhanced with a gold thread according to the principle of kintsugi (a Japanese art which consists of repairing broken ceramics by covering the joints with glue and gold). A delicate drape of roses, hydrangeas and jasmines punctuates the painting, which is flown over by the origami butterflies of Japanese artist Sanae Sawada. An ode to beauty and inspiring resilience.
This commissioned artwork was created based on the client's choice of a theme from the collections developed by IKI de Veyrac.
IKI de Veyrac (elegant in Japanese and water source in Languedoc) offers the most eco-responsible creations: boxes of eternal flowers, designed like jewelry. It has developed sixteen collections, in six formats, each bearing a name evocative of the two cultures (Hanabi, Genji, Maiko, Hokusai, Monet, St-Tropez, Marquise, etc.). The young brand also creates wedding ring holders, custom-made paintings, plant sculptures and multiplies collaborations (flower boxes for jewelers, corporate gifts, decoration of boutiques such as Lupicia, the Japanese tea house in St Germain-des-Prés).
A technique that allows you to enjoy fresh flowers for several years
Discovered in Japan by the founder Thibaut de Veyrac, the eternal flower technique which consists of stabilizing the flowers while keeping their texture intact has been developed for a wide variety of species (hydrangea, rose, chrysanthemum, jasmine, diosmis, amaranth, etc.) and allows you to enjoy the beauty of fresh flowers for several years without maintenance or water.
Art creations inspired by the traditions of Japan
The meticulous and poetic creations are created in the Lyon workshop-showroom, located in the Brotteaux district, by a team of Japanese designers. They draw inspiration from the traditions of Japan and France and combine the ancestral know-how of Japanese gardens and floral art with French elegance.
The most
- The boxes are scented with the Free Spirit of the Divine house and can be enhanced with a mizuhiki, a small Japanese jewel that nestles between two flower petals.
- IKI de Veyrac offers collections, but also custom creations of floral jewelry, particularly for weddings.
From the automotive industry to floral jewelry
The unique journey of a creator
IKI de Veyrac was created in 2021 by Thibaut de Veyrac after five years living in Japan and managing large-scale projects in the automotive industry.
Thibaut de Veyrac trained at the Ecole nationale supérieure du paysage de Versailles in 2012 and was introduced to ikebana the same year by Shuho Hananofu, who practiced at the Silver Pavilion temple in Kyoto. Living in Japan from 2013 to 2017, he discovered Japanese culture, particularly calligraphy, and continued his learning of ikebana. Back in France in 2017, he matured his career plan and obtained a florist diploma. Covid-19 would be the accelerator. In September 2021, Thibaut de Veyrac left the automotive industry to create the IKI de Veyrac brand, with the first boutique opening in December 2021 in Lyon. At the time of the brand's launch, he presented his creations to Stanislas de Quercize (former CEO of Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels), who described his cases as "Floral Jewelry."
